Meet Clayton

My name is Clayton Edwards, and I’m running as a Republican candidate for White County Sheriff.

My wife, JoAn, and I have proudly called White County home for the past 27 years. We have one daughter, Vivi, who is a sophomore at Harding University; one son, Brandon, who we sadly lost in 2016; and one granddaughter, Rachel. Since 2006, we have owned a small business in Searcy. When I’m not working, I volunteer and serve on several boards, one being the White County Fair Board.  I also enjoy fishing and spending quality time with my family.

At 17, I joined the Army National Guard and served for 10 years.  I’m a career law enforcement officer with 35 years of experience, 26 of those being with the White County Sheriff’s Office.  I began my service to White County as a patrol deputy and have since worked in and supervised numerous divisions. I bring a unique level of experience to the table, including drug interdiction and many years as jail administrator.  I am the only candidate with in-depth knowledge of managing a detention center.

I am a Christian and Conservative Republican. I strongly support Constitutional rights, especially the right to bear arms.  I consider myself an innovative, outside-the-box thinker, always looking for new and effective ways to fund and meet the needs of the sheriff’s department, as well as the detention center.

I would be honored to earn your support and look forward to the opportunity to serve as your next White County Sheriff.
